Going to San Diego is always a treat. I have many friends here, from my University days, and good friends at that. And new friends. I’m not much of a stay-cation gal (I should be, it would be good for me), so I’ve packed my bags and headed to San Diego for a long [...] Sarah fell in love with beignets during a trip to NOLA many years ago. She bought a box of the doughnut mix to bring home. But a batch of beignet is an effort and fries up a lot in one go. So, if she’s going to put in the time and churn out a lot [...] There are more fantastic Korean or other asian places to eat at in the Clairemont Mesa Blvd or Convoy area that I am sure any one I choose will be satisfying. Wanderlust is a little pilot light always burning. Corporate life has kept it in check, but it backfired recently. I simply have too much time off accrued. I’ve fallen behind on my out-of-town friendships, too. So I packed my bags and drove to San Diego for a little vacation. Hanging with Valerie [...] It is possible to teach an old dog new tricks. Since first checking this place out in 2007, I’ve figured out that getting dumplings successfully off the menu and into my mouth comes in one of two options. 1. Eat in, during off hours, but not too late when many dumplings might already be sold [...] This is now a tradition. I’ve heard there are now a number of Ethiopian restaurants in San Diego, but my friends say this is still the top pick, best value for money. As usual, Valerie orders. Two portions each of the veggie and meat combos, feeding five. And extra injera.
