Foster’s Freeze

Do you pine away for a Foster’s chocolate dip cone? Well, keep pining. This Foster’s up on the Mesa is closing. You will have to make the treacherous drive all the way to Carpinteria to fulfill your chocolate dip desires.

We hit up the joint the same night as Dean-o’s, as both were slated to close within a week or so of each other. Our taste buds have matured since childhood, of course, and corporate soft-serve doesn’t have the same magical effects as they did years ago, but we did enjoy reliving the memories of a chocolate dip. Unlike childhood, we did not bite into the waxy chocolate and have the ice cream spill out all over our clothing. In that way, adulthood has been a bit of a blessing. No tears.
