It was *supposed* to be a late night snack, just 3 dishes or so. But everyone there was so nice and and we ran into friends who came to a group happy hour a couple weeks earlier, and that put us in an everything’s-great mood. PLUS, I told them we were leaving for vacation until [...]
Possibly one of the most deceptive restaurants in the area. In the front: florescent glowing food court filled with blue collar types eating fish and chips and looking a little unhappy at their state in life. In the back: secret tatami room with Korean style sashimi to make you explode in delight!! That’s what all [...]
I came here for a lunch during the work week, and sat in the patio area. It wasn’t overwhelmingly busy and the staff were attentive. It’s good that Goleta has a few more options where you can feel you’re dining rather than merely eating, even if the food is not fine-style dining. I like some [...]
Pavlova doesn’t seem to be so popular here, but it is a standard dessert I had in Australia and New Zealand. It’s simply meringue, whipped cream and fresh fruit. The fruit here is pitted cherries, sliced plum and mint sprigs. This one became a housewarming gift for the Thompson’s. Eaten in their new back garden!
Hey hey hey! Came here for lunch with a co-worker and lo, the cashier area now has a display of candies and plastic cutsie stuff for sale. Kawaiiiiiii!! Past entries: 27 September 2008 6 January 2008 Itsuki 4020 Calle Real #3 Santa Barbara, CA 93110 www.itsukirestaurant.com
I apologize for ordering the last of the profiteroles that evening. The waiter played a joke of me when he went back into the kitchen to see if any were left. He returned with a disappointed look on his face, making me THINK they were all gone that evening. But there was one order left! [...]
Stop #2 on our progressive dinner. Ted supports many community projects and organizations. His work alongside la Casa de la Raza meant he was in the know on some good torta action at the downtown mercado. We arrived to an absolute madhouse of people rocking out to an oompa band that was bringing down the [...]
I am very disappointed with Romanti-Ezer’s current open hours. This has been determined by their clientele that appears to mostly be late night drunks in search of generic cheap Mexican eats. They now close at 6 pm! BOOOOO. On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays they reopen again at 9 pm, for the drunk crowd. Closing at [...]
For what appears to be such a tiny place, IV Deli Mart really packs it in. Market stuff is in the front of the shop, and the deli portion is in the back, complete with those tantilizing rotating spits of kebab meat. Purchases made: Boysenberry shishah – good selection of shishah and prices were reasonable. [...]
