The Natural Cafe

The Natural Cafe offers a diverse range of food, with a little healthy-crunchy twist. It’s a fresh and light place that the mainstream can handle, and even really enjoy.

I’ve started going to the Goleta location, now that I work in Goleta. The interior is bright and airy, and the place gets packed at lunchtime with students and professionals.

The replacement of french fries for some blue corn chips and salsa is healthier, so even if I might get a turkey burger, I don’t come out feeling bloated and greasy.  The salads are also wholesome and good, nothing foofy about them. The salad dressings do not taste like they are laden with sugar. I like the tofu dill and the tahini dressing on my salads.

The half sandwich, half salad combo meal is a satisfactory lunch – I just had the turkey sandwich and was pleasantly surprised the find the sandwich more generous than expected.

I’ve been steered away from the falafel on several occasions, but the actual staff, but I did finally try it recently. It is okay, but very messy as the pita splits quickly and tajini juice runs everywhere. But overall, it was okay.

I consider the nachos to be one of the better bangs for your buck. A pile of blue corn chips with black beans, brown rice, cheese, sour cream and guacamole. I’ve never been able to finish an order of that, and it’s great to linger over with a friend.

The Natural Cafe is ample with sprouts, it seems like everything there has sprouts! Good thing I like them.

Prices are reasonable, food is healthier than most others. If I was a bachelor, there would be little motivation for me to ever feed myself, I’d just come here.

Desserts are also a special treat. Generous and delicious.
