Freebirds World Burrito
Ah, the little lambs are on spring break, which means IV eateries aren’t heaving with youngin’s in the midst of drunken courtship.
We used this time for a quick jaunt out to Freebirds and I am glad to note that my burrito of choice was still available.
The place looks like its gone through some peaks and troughs in terms of menu variety, but at this time it’s scaled back to its basics: steak, chicken or veggie burritos, nachos and tacos. Gone is the “kitchen sink” 2 tortilla burrito, but the regular and monster happily grace the menu. And gone are the days when I could actually eat a chicken monster. I barely finished the regular, and spent the rest of the afternoon in food coma.
So what is in the bbq sauce? Crack? I certainly wouldn’t call it authentic, I don’t even really know what authentic is, I’m hardly an expert or even an enthusiast. But it’s what makes the burrito there the “Freebirds burrito” for me.
