They are open late, the owner is super nice, the chili cheese fries are TEH YUM. The fries are really great, maybe they are coated with crack, they are just delicious. Add some chili and some cheese = lunch for under $3. Turn your dog into a combo meal for $2.50, or $3.00 if you [...] November 22nd, 2007 | Tags: Eating Out, hot dog, late night eats, Santa Barbara | Category: American food, Eating Out, Santa Barbara | Leave a comment
A good place for lunch. A bad place for conversation. I’ve been here twice for business, and once for a birthday. On all occasions it was very hard to hold a conversation, and some of those times it wasn’t that crowded. It’s neat that the staff wear nice jackets and are wonderfully polite. Is this [...] November 22nd, 2007 | Tags: Cajun, Eating Out, Palace Grill, restaurants, Santa Barbara | Category: Cajun food, Eating Out, Santa Barbara | Leave a comment
What I like about the Italian Bakery are: * short queues * fast service * friendly service – they asked my name on the second visit and knew it by the third! * very good prices * great macaroons! Just $1 and it’s a decent portion. They have daily sandwich specials, and a half – [...] November 18th, 2007 | Tags: deli, Eating Out, Goleta, Italian Bakery, Santa Barbara | Category: American food, Eating Out, Santa Barbara | Leave a comment
From the outside, the restuarant is very unassuming and fairly hidden. The headerboard space is shared with both Palapa and “Luis’ Tax Service” or something like that. And next door is a porn shop. Don’t let that hold you back. In fact, maybe you need tax services and a porn flick, in which case, this [...] November 18th, 2007 | Tags: Mexican food, restaurants, Santa Barbara | Category: Eating Out, Mexican food, Santa Barbara | Leave a comment
I went to the Stateside about a week after it opened, with some Bay Area friends. The greeting at the door was good, the service was decent. The food was reasonably priced and the grey goose martini was smooth and yummy. We had one vegetarian in our party, so we ordered a few veggie starter [...] November 17th, 2007 | Tags: burgers, live music | Category: American food, Bars, Santa Barbara | Leave a comment
This is a great neighborhood cafe for breakfast and lunch. Come here with your friends for a casual meal. Sometimes it can be noisy and lively, sometimes it can be quiet, depending on what time you go and whether the parties the night before were rocking. Judge for Yourself filled my order for grilled cheese [...] November 4th, 2007 | Tags: grilled cheese, Judge For Yourself, restaurants, Santa Barbara | Category: American food, Eating Out, Santa Barbara | Leave a comment
Don’t let the State Street address fool you, the restaurant is within la Arcada, closer to Figueroa. They specialize in small plates. There is nothing more than $15 and those that are $15 have not disappointed me. The cheese plate for $7 feeds 2-3 people, the bread is fresh from the oven, the salads are [...] November 4th, 2007 | Tags: cheese plate, dessert, frog legs | Category: Eating Out, French food, Santa Barbara | Leave a comment
